I dont really know many, I use www.cooltoad.com …. it has music that is uploaded by other users of it. So sometimes, it may not be what you wanted exactly, but I reckon it is legal.

I have spent hours trying to find places as well, and THEY CHANGE all the time, so be prepared to search FREE DOWNLOADS MUSIC in different browsers and search engines and go thru AT LEAST the top 200 to 300, cuz many of the better ones do not have excellent placement.
What I do is play it and record it from my ‘OUT’ onto a free standing CD recorder( you can use DVD too but there are more blockers for DVD’s than CD’s I’ve found).
Once on a disc, I place it back in my puter and download it from there.
That’s for the questionably legal..I reckon if I just use it myself to listen to again, hey who cares.
For legal stuff, the website has to say you may donwload it free of charge, but check the terms and conditions.
