Hello,
I need tο dο ѕοmе classical music reviews fοr mу music history class аnd I want tο know ѕοmе ехсеllеnt songs tο review thаt аrе lesser knowns.
Bесаυѕе music bу Bach аnd Beethoven аnd such аrе аll talked аbουt іn thе text. I wουld prefer reviewing something different thаt I never heard before.
THANK YOU!
Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Salieri, but in my opinion you really cant beat Beethoven’s Emperor.
How about Gregorio Allegri, Nicola Matteis or Jean Sibelius for example?
Weiss and Telemann were both contemporaries of Bach, and Czerny was a pupil of Beethoven’s and teacher of Liszt’s, and Salieri was considered Mozart’s rival at court. Shostakovich had a pupil named Galina Ustvolskaya who composed some pretty clean music for the piano, and you could always listen to some really modern stuff like Ligeti or to the music of his students Denis Bouliane and Unsuk Chin
These are few of my favorite pieces that I’ve played and studied in the past year or so. (:
Elgar’s Enigma Variations “Nimrod”
Rimsky-korsakov’s Snow Maiden Suite, the last movement, dance of the tumblers
Holst’s St. Paul’s suite (This piece is really, really fun to listen to!)
de Falla’s Danse Espagnole
